Part 8 of my Weird Things You Can Do in Magic: The Gathering series is Fight Club, where the first rule is that everything in my graveyard is about to fight.
Building the fighter
I start with Essence of the Wild, which makes my creatures enter as copies of it, then improve on it step by step:
- Humble strips its abilities.
- Mythos of Illuna makes a token copy that also fights a creature when it enters.
- Nethroi, Apex of Death mutates onto that token, granting deathtouch and lifelink and returning creatures with total power 10 or less from the graveyard.
The payoff
Every creature Nethroi returns enters as a copy of that mutated token, so each one enters fighting, with deathtouch and lifelink. A whole graveyard of powerless creatures comes back swinging at once.
