A quick Short built around one of my favourite ideas in Magic: setting up a board state so bizarre that losing the game turns into part of the combo.
The setup
Starting from an empty library and seven cards in hand, I chain together a pile of mana from Black Lotus, Channel, and Chromatic Orrery, then use Research to fetch a card from outside the game. Yes, that card is a Charizard, because why not.
Losing on purpose
I activate Words of Worship repeatedly, then play Lich's Mirror and cast Charizard. Dropping to zero life would normally lose me the game, but Lich's Mirror replaces that loss: I shuffle everything back into my library, gain life, and reset my life total. Then Shahrazad resolves and kicks off an entirely new subgame. It is a gloriously silly chain that turns near-death into a fresh start, all in under a minute.
